Sidemen is a rural part of Bali, and the experience here is calm and simple.

Sidemen is a rural area in East Bali known for its rice fields, views of Mount Agung, and traditional village life.

It is much quieter and less developed than places like Ubud or the south of Bali. There are no beach clubs or nightlife, and daily life moves at a slower pace.

Most guests come here to enjoy nature, walk through the rice fields, and experience a more local side of Bali.

It is possible to stay in Sidemen without a scooter, but it requires a bit more planning.

Some places can be reached on foot, especially around the immediate area. However, many restaurants, viewpoints, and activities are spread out.

Most guests either rent a scooter or arrange transport with a local driver to move around more freely.

If you prefer not to drive, we can help organise transport, but it is best to plan ahead.

Sidemen is best known for its natural surroundings and slower pace of life.

Popular activities include walking through rice fields, guided trekking, visiting waterfalls, exploring nearby villages, and day trips around East Bali.

About the Villa

Villa Uma Dewi Sri consists of two separate houses with a very similar layout and size.

The main difference is the living room:
– Uma Dewi has an enclosed living room, offering a more sheltered and private feel
– Uma Sri has an open living room, with a more direct connection to the surrounding nature

Both villas are designed for 2 guests and share the same property and swimming pool.

The swimming pool is shared between the two villas on the property.

If both villas are booked by the same guests, the pool is fully private. Otherwise, it is shared with the guests staying in the other villa.

No, the villas do not have air conditioning.

The houses are designed for natural ventilation, with open structures and airflow from the surrounding rice fields. Ceiling fans are installed in both the bedroom and living areas.

Many guests find this comfortable, especially in the evenings, but it may not suit everyone who prefers fully air-conditioned spaces.

Yes, we provide Wi-Fi throughout the property.

As we are located in a rural area, connection speed may vary, and occasional outages can happen.

Villa Uma Dewi Sri is located just outside the main village area.

It takes around 5–10 minutes by scooter or car to reach the centre of Sidemen, where you will find restaurants and small shops.

The location offers a quieter setting, surrounded by rice fields and nature.

Booking & Cancelation

You can check availability and make a reservation directly on our website.

Once the deposit is received, your booking is confirmed and you will receive a confirmation email.

A 50% deposit is required to confirm your reservation.

Cancellation is free up to 30 days before arrival, and the deposit will be refunded (minus any transaction fees).

Within 30 days before arrival, only the deposit is non-refundable. No further payment is required.

Yes, it is possible to book both villas together.

This is suitable for a maximum of 4 guests and allows you to have the entire property, including the swimming pool, to yourselves.

Each villa is designed for a maximum of 2 guests.

For families of 3 or 4 people, both villas need to be booked.

Please note that the property layout and stairs may not be suitable for small children.

Check in & Check out

Check-in time is between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

If you expect to arrive later, please let us know in advance so we can prepare accordingly.

Check-out time is until 12:00 PM on the day of departure.

Early check-in cannot be guaranteed, as we need time to prepare the villa after previous guests.

If the villa is ready earlier, we are happy to let you check in sooner.

You are also welcome to drop off your luggage and explore the area while we prepare your accommodation.

Late check-out cannot be guaranteed, especially if new guests are arriving on the same day.

If possible, we will do our best to accommodate your request.

You may leave your luggage with our staff and spend some time in the area until your departure.

Transport

Sidemen is located around 1.5 to 2 hours from Bali Airport, depending on traffic.

The most reliable way to reach Sidemen is by arranging a private driver in advance.

You can also take a taxi from the airport, but after a long flight or for late arrivals, pre-arranged transport is usually more comfortable.

Transport in Sidemen is limited compared to more developed areas of Bali.

Most guests either rent a scooter or arrange transport with a local driver. Scooters are the most flexible option for exploring nearby places.

Some locations can be reached on foot, but many restaurants and activities are spread out.

If you prefer not to drive, we can help organise transport, but it is best to plan ahead.

Gojek and Grab are available for drop-off to Sidemen.

For pick-up, they are becoming more frequent but are still not reliable. Especially for time-sensitive trips such as airport or ferry transfers, we do not recommend relying on them.

Yes, we can help organise transport and tours during your stay.

We usually work together with Sidemen Tour & Trekking, who know the area well.

It is best to arrange transport at least a few days in advance, especially for airport transfers or longer trips.

Yes, we can help arrange a scooter for you through local providers.

Availability is limited, so we recommend reserving a few days in advance.

Food & Dining

Yes, breakfast is included in your stay.

We do not operate a public restaurant.

Meals are prepared for our staying guests and served in the privacy of your villa.

Yes, we can prepare vegetarian and gluten-free meals.

For special dietary requirements, please let us know in advance. Some ingredients need to be sourced from outside Sidemen, so a few days’ notice is helpful.

Activities & Services

During your stay, we can help arrange a few services and activities in and around Sidemen.

These include guided walks, transport, massage, and simple experiences such as a romantic dinner setup.

Most services are organised with trusted local providers.

Yes, we can arrange a massage in the privacy of your villa.

Money & Payments

Yes, you can pay with a credit card.

Please note that in some cases foreign cards may not be accepted. This depends on the bank and is outside of our control.

There is only one ATM in Sidemen.

We recommend not relying solely on it, as it may not always work or can run out of cash, especially on weekends or holidays.

There is a small place to exchange money in Sidemen, but rates are not very favourable and it may not be an official exchange.

We recommend exchanging money in the main tourist areas before coming to Sidemen. Local exchange is best used for emergencies only.

No, it is not possible to pay in cash with foreign currency in Indonesia.

By law, all cash payments must be made in Indonesian Rupiah.

Nature & Animals

The villa is located in a natural environment, surrounded by rice fields and vegetation.

You may see insects, geckos, lizards, frogs, and other small animals around the property. While we maintain high cleaning standards, it is not possible to keep nature completely outside.

If you are not comfortable with this, the setting may not be the right fit.

There are generally not many mosquitos in the area.

Natural predators such as geckos, frogs, and fish in the surrounding environment help keep mosquito levels low.

Yes, we have two friendly dogs living on the property.

No, pets are not allowed.
